SENIOR DEVELOPMENT SCIENTIST

Location: Speke, Liverpool

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Development Scientist to support TriRx’s Process Development (PD) Organisation in its mission to deliver innovation, characterisation, and optimisation to meet customer requirements within a growing global Contract Development & Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO).

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Experimental design and analysis of fermentation operations, technical program leadership, lab supervision, collaboration with internal and external partners and technology transfer with manufacturing partners:
  • Provide subject matter expertise to upstream process development. Leverage knowledge/experience to accelerate and optimise monoclonal antibody production
  • Build an upstream platform based upon technical innovation, solid economics, and an appropriate risk assessed approach
  • Introduce new techniques and technologies. Keep pace with the expertise in the field and the competitive landscape
  • Development high throughput upstream capabilities to support
  • • Fermentation screening & process optimisation
  • Design Space definition (if applicable)
  • Experience in monoclonal antibody or cell & gene therapy process development, optimisation and scale up will be a strong advantage
  • Understanding of or experience with multiple technology platforms (e.g. purification, analytical method development, formulations)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD, M.Sc (+5 yrs) or B.Sc (+8yrs) in mammalian cell culture or other biochemistry/genetic engineering related degree
  • Experience working with fermentation of large molecule product streams (Monoclonal Antibodies, Proteins, Antigens)
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence teams
  • Experience within industry or a CDMO environment is desirable, but not a prerequisite.
