Location: Shawnee, Kansas


  • Reporting directly to the site Customer Relationship Leader, the Senior Project Manager:
  • Manages multiple concurrent site product development and product technical transfer projects from initiation to commercialization of the products ensuring commitments on quality, scope, budget, and schedule are met.
  • Leads cross functional project teams. Schedules and leads project team meetings including directly interfacing with customers. Prepares meeting agendas, minutes, and actions and holds the project team accountable to deliver.
  • Ensures that project delivery methodologies, project management processes/principles and project management tools are utilized to achieve project goals. Has ownership in site project management business processes and works with the customer relationship leader to improve these processes. Initiates and executes change controls using the quality management system.
  • Effectively communicates project status and updates to external customers, internal stakeholders, and management through use of presentations and other standard communication tools. Identifies risks to the project and developments and implements solutions to address them.
  • Supports the routine completion of new business proposals accurately and on time by providing project management and technical leadership to populate standardized templates containing new opportunity scope, costs, and timelines. This includes periodically leading technical calls with the customer relationship team and customer to align on new business opportunity scope and address open questions pertinent to completing the proposal.
  • Responsible for routine project management of product maintenance activity or post-commercial approval change projects, including key life cycle projects and business excellence initiatives as assigned.


  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field. Master’s degree in a related field or project management is preferred.
  • 4+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Prior experience in roles of project management, operational/business excellence, and leadership preferred.
  • Fundamental understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing technologies and processes including for parenteral, oral solid dosage, soft chew, and non-sterile liquid dosage forms strongly preferred.
  • Operating knowledge of cGMPs and regulatory requirements applicable to the domestic and global pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a customer-oriented approach and an ability to manage teams and other project stakeholders through constraints to meet the agreed upon objectives and goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Preferred experience with ERP systems and project management software programs.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Multi-task well and wear multiple hats with an ability to summarize and translate technical information into clear problem statements and actions.
